Shereens Montessori Pre-Primary School 3.16

Established in 1976, Shereens Montessori Pre-Primary school is run by a team of professionally trained, passionate and dedicated staff. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, happy environment; conducive to the holistic development of each child, where their physical, emotional, social, spiritual and cognitive needs are met.

Our classes are mixed ages to allow children to learn from one another, to encourage a sense of community and to develop a sense of responsibility.

The toddler class caters for 12 - 15 children aged 18 months - 3 years, while the three pre-primary classes cater for approximately 25 children aged 3 - 6years. The Montessori curriculum works in a 3 year cycle to allow the child to develop holistically and have a solid foundation and preparation for Primary school (and life).

Children are engaged in a variety of fun, learning activities. Through Maria Montessori’s concrete didactic materials they are given the foundations for reading and writing, an introduction to mathematics right up to the decimal system, taught how to care for the environment and themselves. It is through these activities that they build independence, self-confidence and a love for learning. Children are taught universal morals and we encourage good manners and respect for all.

Parents requiring a religious programme, can enrol in the Islamic Religious Programme offered as an extra-mural at the school. Our other extra-mural activities offer children the opportunity to develop their gross motor muscles and core strength in a variety of fun ways, while learning other skills as well. Parents can currently choose between horse-riding, swimming and play ball, with more options to be added in the near future.
