The Star Cafe joins its neighbor The Black Cow Cafe as one of the most popular restaurants in the shopping district of Old Town Montrose - a charming, tranquil enclave just few a miles from metropolitan Los Angeles.

Opened in 1994, the Star Cafe is a creation of the father and son restaurant team of Jeff and Jack Williams. The elder Jack Williams has been a fixture in Southern California dining establishments since the 1950s.

Together, Jeff and Jack have operated many restaurants throughout Southern California since the 1970s, including five in the Glendale-Montrose area: The Star Cafe, Black Cow Cafe, Clancy's Crab Broiler, JAX Bar & Grill, and Hamburger Central.
