Formerly the Solvent Space located in the Plant Zero complex, The Shop is an entirely free performance venue where Richmond-based artists can conceive, build and workshop their projects in an open-door, collaborative environment.

Along with being a performance space, The Shop is also an art gallery, broadcast studio, and recording studio, furnished with all the equipment, production elements and seating you need to bring your project to life.

The Shop is home to SlamRichmond, Virginia's longest running poetry slam broadcast live every Saturday on www.slamrichmond.tv

Each year, we play host to many of Richmond's theatre organizations via a unique weekly program, Sunday's at The Shop. Through this program, theatre companies can workshop a piece, culminating in a performance. Since 2013, The Shop has hosted The Acts of Faith Inspired Theatre Festival celebrating theatre based on the theme of faith.

As a music venue, we offer a top-of-the-line sound system, lighting options and a recording studio to track your live concerts with ProTools.

No matter what your project, The Shop has everything you need to make it happen. When you book time with us, you get a comprehensive setup including: lights, sound, projection, curtains, seating, a 15 foot stage, and an on-site manager who will be there to make sure it all goes smoothly.
