John Blackie is a licensed Massachusetts real estate agent specializing in luxury waterfront properties on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. John’s business experience, education and relationship to the cape make him the ideal candidate for buyers and sellers looking for a smooth and worry free experience.

Prior to real estate John worked in the entertainment industry at OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network in Los Angeles where he served as a Programming Analyst for the network. At OWN John was involved in ratings analysis, press releases, focus groups and provided qualitative reports to help identify opportunities for growth. During his time at the network ratings more than doubled and John worked closely with the marketing, scheduling and programming departments to ensure proper positioning. He was also a frequent collaborator with Harpo Productions and Tyler Perry Studios.

Before working at OWN John studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute in West Hollywood and worked in TV ad sales for Cox Reps and Post-Newsweek Stations. During his tenure at Cox John helped negotiate and secure TV airtime for his client stations and worked with national advertisers including many top Hollywood movie studios. John graduated from Hofstra University in 2006 with a BBA in Marketing and a minor in Audio/Video/Film. In college John interned at Artemis Records in New York and studied Italian filmmaking in Venice, Italy.

John grew up spending his summers in Chatham where he now works and lives full-time. He is a direct descendant of William Nickerson of the Nickerson family that founded Chatham in the 1600’s. In his spare time he enjoys all the outdoor activities that the cape and islands has to offer.
