Ardmore Rod and Gun Club incorporated with Indian Territory in 1901. The purpose of the Club was to provide land and water for it's members to fish, hunt and( as they called swimming in the early 1900's), bathe. It was a MEN'S only club. A Clubhouse was built in 1906 where members, and their male guest, came to fish, hunt and bathe. There are 2 lakes on the property. The North lake consumes 18 acres and the South lake is 22 acres. Boat houses are located on each lake where each member stored their boats. The clubhouse is 3 stories and the lowest story of the club housed the member's guest where bunks and lockers were provided for their extended stay. It is said that men were coming from OKC and Norman by horse and wagon. Therefore, once they made it to the Club they stayed for several weeks at a time.
David and Samantha purchased the Club in 2001 from it's 36 members. Included in the purchase was the treasured original corporate seal from 1901 which displays "Ardmore, Indian Territory". We continue to add character to the property through construction and manicuring. It has truly been a blessing to have the opportunity to add to this historic property. We are currently taking advantage of the drought brought on by the infamous "Drought of 2011". We are working on connecting 2 docks with an added palapa complete with thatch roofing in the middle of the connection over the water.
We have added guest quarters complete with a 1/2 basketball court and fitness center. Horse stalls were constructed along with 8 dog kennels to maintain English Pointers and Britney Spaniels as well as Tennessee Walking Horses and Missouri Fox-trotters.
There is an elevated swimming pool complete with a 10 foot water fall. The spillway for the lake runs right beside the lodge incased with rock taken from the Arbuckle Mountains.
We have been blessed with this historic piece of property and love for family and friends to come and enjoy.

More information and pics are coming soon.

If you ever visited the Rod and Gun Club please post your story as we are trying to obtain as much history as we can for publication.

The Best,
David and Samantha Crook
