Shree Hindu Community Centre (SHCC) was founded in 1979 when the presence of Birmingham's Hindu Community had started to take root.
The property was an old church in poor condition requiring significant improvement and injection of funds. It took a further ten years and a persistent effort by the founding leaders with the help of the community to reach a stage for a Murthi Pran Pratishtha to take place in 1989 and for Shree Laxmi Narayan Mandir to become a fully functioning part of the SHCC.
