Madrasah and Aalim/Aalimah Course Overview

Jamiya Sufiya UK are pleased to offer a comprehensive Madrasah and Aalim/Alimah course based in Leicester, UK. Jamiya Sufiya under the banner of Spiritual Foundation are offering students in the west the opportunity to learn the sacred sciences and gradate as fully fledged scholars and leaders of Islam.

Education is the basis of learning, developing and evolving. Carrying and teaching sacred knowledge brings the seeker closer to the Creator. This is indeed our ultimate aim. Moreover the lack of organised syllabus and weak teachings has turned potential students of Islam away from religion. We intend to bring them closer to learnings of Islam through a systemised syllabus, modern methodologies/technologies and expert teachers. We are thus promoting classical teaching with a 21st century delivery. Here is brief overview of the syllabus:

The course begins at Foundation level in Madrassa aimed at boys and girls aged 4-13. The syllabus will include:
Tajweed, Quran, Hifz, Islamic studies (Fiqh/Aqaid), Islamic History, Nasheed, Morality (Tasawwuf)

At Intermediate level boys and girls will be introduced to the following subjects:
Usool e Tafseer & Tafseer, Usool e Hadith &Hadith, Usool e Fiqh (Usool Shashi) & Fiqh (Nurul Iza & Qudoori), Advanced Arabic Grammar, Ilmul Balaga, Tassawwuf, (Meaning, Concept & History), Theology (Aqaid -Ahle - Sunnat-Wal-Jamaat), Islamic History.

The Advanced level certificate is a course aimed at older students both men and women. Subjects will be:
Usool e Tafseer, Usool e Hadith, Fiqh, (Hidaya & Shara-ul Waqaya), Advanced Arabic grammar, Ilmul Balaga, Tasawwuf (Advanced), Theology (Aqaid-Ahle-Sunnat-Wal-Jamaat)

This ground breaking course is structured in a tiered system to gradually build upon previous sacred knowledge attained at each level. We also allow students to study a specific subject if they do not wish to study the entire Aalim course. Moreover we offer students with private tuition, if they cannot attend classes due to other commitments. The able team of Jamia Sufiya would be offering various other subjects as well, e.g.: English classes for Foreigners, Urdu Classes, Islamic Leadership, Imam Training, Islam and Orientalists, Philosophy of Religion and many more.

Social, Welfare and Spiritual Activities

Sufi Cure: Those who are seeking for help and assistance for their physical and spiritual problems usually contact the office to book an appointment and are given free consultation and spiritual treatment (Roohani Ilaaj) for seven days week. To reach a large number of people, the ‘Sufi Cure’ team has built a website, where individuals can email and gain free treatment from our online team. The entire ‘Sufi Cure’ is run under the spiritual patronage of Hazrat Syed Muhammad Jilani Ashraf and Hazrat Sayyad Mohamed Husaini Ashraf.

Weekly Dhikr Gatherings: Every Thursday gathering of dhikr (remembrance of Allah) is organised for men and women. The programme usually starts with the recitation of the Quran, naat, and brief lecture about the importance and virtues of dhikr. This is followed by the main dhikr, Khatam Shareef, Salaam and Dua.
Salah and Juma Salah: The first floor is open for anyone to come and pray their daily salah. The Juma Salah also takes place on the first floor. The lectures are usually delivered in English, and translated if given in any other languages.
Monthly ‘Urs Gatherings: Jamia Sufiya (UK) organises monthly gatherins on a large scale in the name of Awliya and Sufiya. The team searches the Islamic Lunar Calendar and decides to hold a gathering in the name of a Sufi, who had passed away in that particular Islamic month. The gatherings are usually held for men and women of all ages. At the end people are served with food (langar).

Awraad and Wazaif: During the weekends we hold meetings and gatherings for those who are eager to learn about wazaif and other methods of optional worship. For example salat-ul-tasbeeh is usually performed so that the general public may be able to gain benefit from it. The local residents have appreciated Jamia Sufiya (UK) for initiating such practices as they have been unfortunately forgotten in the society.

Discussion and Consultation: Sometimes individuals come across various questions and doubt within their daily lives about the religion of Islam and its true reality. We encourage them to come to Jamia Sufiya, so that our expert panel of scholars may be able to help them understand about the essence of Islam and try to bring them closer to the Creator for a peaceful and harmonious life.

Online Shop: The online shop is managed by Spiritual Foundation (UK), where customers can buy books and other Islamic materials. We intend to develop the online shop into a huge library of books and religious materials, so that members of the society can benefit from its resources.

We intend to continue with these activities in a better manner, and also hope to initiate more daily, weekly, monthly and yearly activities for the local and international community for their own benefit. We intend to hold a 24/48 hours Spiritual Training Camp in the near future for the local and international communities, so that our mission may be able to inspire people from around the World, In sha Allah.
