Sponsor a Tree Today-

Today's need for more woodland is widely acknowledged. At Heritage Wood there exists a rare chance for you to play an active role in the creation of an exciting woodland habitat.

Whether you dedicate a tree to mark a special event such as the arrival of a new member of the family or in memory of a loved one, by sponsoring a tree planted in Heritage Wood you will be helping to provide a nature retreat for yourself, your family and generations into the future.

For more details on sponsoring a tree, please visit our sponsorship section on our website. There are eight different species of hardwood tree to choose from. For more details please see our Tree Type Picture Album.

Heritage Wood is situated about five miles to the south of the market town of Ashbourne, Derbyshire, the southernmost point of the Peak District, in a delightfully unspoilt Derbyshire countryside.

In March 1988 Robert and Wendy Morley who have farmed at Ednaston since 1964 planted the first trees in Heritage Wood partly because they wished to create a new woodland and partly as a result of friends and relatives who had expressed an interest in planting trees to mark a variety of occasions and family events.

Each year since then several hundred trees have been planted. With your sponsorship they'll go on planting more each year.

Heritage Wood has no gates and is open to all, from dawn to sunset all year round. As well as picnic tables and duck ponds there are areas of bird cover and old hedgerows which provide an ideal corridor for many types of wildlife.

Visit our Find Us page for details on getting here via the website. Alternatively you can Contact Us, and we will be happy to answer any of your questions.

We also have a small scenic caravan site within Heritage Wood consisting of five sites. For details, please see our Caravan section on our website.
