I started Nordic Walking after a serious accident left me with nerve damage from 3 prolapsed discs. I was incapacitated for 3.5 years & needed to lose some weight and get myself fit again. When I started I was 27 stone (378 lbs) & now 15 months on I have lost over 5 stone & walk regular half Marathons (13.25 miles). This sport/activity has changed my life & I'm now medication free. In Feb 2015 I trained to become a Nordic Walking Instructor so I could pass on this amazing activity to others & regularly run classes & group walks for people of all ages, shapes, sizes & fitness levels in the Northampton area who want to get themselves fitter and more healthy, but don't really like the traditional gym route. Taster sessions are available for £8.00 so you can try a session before you sign up to do the full 10 step course. (There is a 10% discount taken from the cost when you book on to the full course if you have done a taster session) I also have some amazing group walks that you can attend each week at 10am 1.30pm and 6pm & weekends that that start from £5.00 for a 3 Mile Stamina Walk, so you will get a fab whole body workout whilst having some fun in the best outdoor gyms throughout Northampton. Remember Nordic Walking burns up to 46% more calories than normal walking & uses 95% of your muscles, it's low impact & very sociable so you will make new friends whilst dropping the lbs.
