Zigzag - part of a turkish family!

Zigzag is a Fountaine Pajot Bahia 46 catamaran that is privately owned and loved by her Turkish/English family in her base port of Fethiye in beautiful south west Turkey. She is a true sailing yacht with sparkling performance, and her design miraculously combines stylish and elegant looks with a roomy interior, whilst still retaining performance and seaworthiness. Zigzag can cover distance safely and serenely under sail, thereby following in the spirit and history of the ancient sailing tradition of the clear blue Mediterranean and Aegean Seas. In addition to her sailing abilities, her quiet and efficient twin diesel engines can be used if conditions or schedule require them. BUT there is a lot to be said for the "When and where the wind blows" attitude that is the tradition of the sea.

A holiday on the sea will gently ask for a natural pace of life that most of us have lost in our normal day to day routines.

The captain is originally from Cornwall, near England, but has lived in Turkey for 11 years. He is fully qualified and able to sail Zigzag single handed, but guests with sailing experience are very welcome to become involved, and the novice can quickly learn through participation. There is no extra cost for the captain of Zigzag (saving typically almost €1000 on a one weeksailing holiday!).

The captain's wife was born in the historic coastal village of Dalyan in south west Turkey, and during a holiday on Zigzag you are quite likely to meet someone who is related to her! She grew up never far from the sea, and is available to sail on Zigzag during your holiday if you want help with breakfast, light lunches and stewardess duties to enhance your relaxation.

Their two daughters (8 and 13 years) are keen co owners of Zigzag and always available for guests with children requiring company!

Comfort on the water. Zigzag is roomy and comfortable with private cabins and 4 toilets and showers for guest use. Guests can either feed themselves in the roomy and well equipped kitchen of Zigzag, or they can eat ashore in small traditional restaurants that can be found in many coves and bays. A good plan that some people use is to eat breakfast and light lunch on Zigzag and have most evening meals ashore. At the start of your cruise we will help and advise you with local shopping so that you can economically stock Zigzag with the basic food and drinks that you will require during your holiday.
