one-north MRT Station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Circle Line located in Queenstown, Singapore. The station serves the hub for Biopolis and Fusionopolis, as well as the Singapore campuses of both ESSEC and INSEAD, two top international business schools. The station is located in the basement of Phase 1 of the Fusionopolis. one-north Station is the only MRT station in Singapore to have a name starting with an uncapitalised letter. Architecture firm Aedas designed one-north MRT Station. A 20-minute walk to Mediacorp at Star Avenue.HistoryThe Ministry of Manpower said on 30 April 2004 that the collapse at Fusionopolis was not related to the Circle Line construction as the station had not begun construction then.Art in TransitThe artwork featured in this station under the Art in Transit programme is A Visual Narrative Of Pandemonic Rhythmic Movement by Yek Wong. This piece, split in three parts and stretching from above Platform B doors to the skylight, is an abstraction of colours, shapes and lines. The lines are in fact depictions of MRT commuter traffic from morning to evening (going from left to right).NamesakeThe significance of the name one-north is probably from the fact that Singapore is one-degree to the north of the equator, and also for the fact that the station is close to many Quaternary Industries like Biopolis, Fusionopolis, etc.
