Nam Hwa Opera Limited

Nam Hwa Opera (NHO) was set up in October 1963 as an amateur music and drama association by a group of Teochew opera enthusiasts who wanted to preserve and promote Teochew opera for enjoyment. In its 50 plus years of existence, NHO has given many public performances, not only for the purpose of enriching local arts and culture, but also to help raise funds for many schools, voluntary welfare organisations and charitable institutions.

As an amateur organisation, NHO was able to score these achievements through strong public support and the unity of its management and members. In order to further promote Teochew opera and preserve tradition, NHO was determined to push its boundaries further. In February 2015, NHO successfully incorporated and registered a new entity called the “Nam Hwa Opera Limited”, a company limited by guarantee, in order to become a transparent and professionally run body. Every members of Nam Hwa play an important role in carrying on the mission of preserving and promoting the Teochew culture and tradition in Singapore.

南华儒剧社有限公司

在一群爱好研究戏曲及弘扬潮州传统文化的热心朋友的支持下，南华儒剧社于1963年10月正式成立，成为了联络同好者的团体。在历届领导及社员的努力下，南华儒剧社茁壮成长，为普及推广潮剧，足迹遍布国内外，所有演出都得到广大观的赞赏及肯定，更为许多教育学府、民间组织和公益团体义演筹募基金。

为使剧务与时并进，在新加坡国家艺术理事会的支持及鼓励下，理事会决定转型，在2015年2月成功注册为担保有限公司，并于同年4月获准为为慈善机构，同时享有捐款估税扣税的优惠。作为一个业余艺术团体，能取得上述成绩，并全心致力于推广及弘扬潮剧文化，全赖社会各界热心支持和全体上下一心的团结奋斗。
