Made up of beginning students as young as 3 through advanced students up to 16 and beyond, the academy’s dancers are rigorously trained in classical ballet methods based on the Russian, French, Danish, Italian and American Schools. This system develops versatile young artists with strong technique and the ability to be internationally competitive.
Students of Cheng Ballet additionally work intensively in ballet technique, pointe, variations and strength training. Professional skills are also developed and honed throughout the year at academy performances, events and full-length productions.
Cheng Ballet Academy’s influence also extends beyond its own studio with many awards won at international competitions such as The American Ballet Competition and The World Ballet Competition. Its students have most recently won the 3rd prize in the Division II, Ensemble Category of the American Ballet Competition 2011 with Mr Cheng’s original choreography for Bach.
