Surizai is a village and Union Council in Peshawar District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.The Pashtuns of this village speak the Pashto language and practice Pashtunwali, which is a traditional code of conduct and honour. This society consists of many tribes and clans which were rarely politically united. It is said that Sher Shah Suri on his way to Delhi left some of his family members here, due to which the name of this village became Surizai, its descendants claims that they are from Suri clan of Pashtus.
