Qidwai Welfare Trust (QWT) started operating in 2003 as a philanthropic group of family and friends. Its, first project was a school in partnership with Muslim Hands for the poor and needy children in Sehnsa - Kotli, Azzad Jammu Kashmir. Since then QWT has funded for two more schools, ten orphan homes, hundreds of water wells / hand-pumps, and thousands of tons of food distribution and humanitarian aid.

QWT is a niche NGO, which operates its projects in partnership with other international and local NGO’s like, Muslim Aid, Muslim Hands, READ Foundation, Almustafa Development Network, The Charity Network etc… It pursues its goals by leveraging on the infrastructure of its partner organizations, and it focuses its own efforts on where it can add most value for its donors.
