Directorate of Press, Media & Publications, University of Gujrat 4.31

The department of Media and Publications has been operative since 2007. It was promoted to a Directorate in 2012. This directorate testifies to the innovative vision of the Vice Chancellor. It is the mouthpiece of UOG. It is the basic grid in communication networks both intra, and external. The basic function is to develop liaison with print and electronic media in projecting the academics, achievements, creative and innovative activities being promoted in the university. It is tantamount to image building of the university. It is also performing the task of Public Relationship which is so vital for any institution; in not only projecting its achievements but also receiving feedback from the populace, sister institutions and government departments.
This Directorate is the custodian of vision, mission and goals of the university. In its strategy and tactics it is the most sensitive and vocal organ in projection of university consciousness.
It is directly linked with civil society. To manage interaction with civil society, this department has to manage cultural activities, like seminars, debates, symposia, declamations on multifarious issues.
The second basic component of this department is Publications. Almost one dozen publications within a short span of time speaks volumes of its productivity and significance. It not only publishes books but is at the beck and call of other researchers, scholarly, and creative writers in helping them getting published. It also publishes a university newsletter.
