Function - determines the worthiness of the proposed research and extension service projects and recommend for approval the level of assistance -financial or whatever to faculty members conducting research for their master's theses, doctoral dissertations and other research and extension activities, however, should be within the thrust of the University.
Research and Development Center of MSU-General Santos draws support from regional, national, and international, both private and government agencies that the Center may be able to tap and from the budget of the University appropriated for research and development purposes.
It is composed of Three (3) Divisions:
1. THE NATURAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DIVISION - Engineering, Fisheries, Agriculture, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics;
2. HISTORY, CULTURE AND SOCIAL SCIENCES DIVISION - History, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Culture and Society, Business Administration, Economics, Education, and Islamic;
3. LINGUISTICS, JOURNALISM AND HUMANITIES DIVISION - Communications, Linguistics/Languages, Communication Arts, Aesthetics, Philosophy.
