The National Tobacco Administration (NTA) was created on July 24, 1987 by Executive Order No. 245 to promote the development of the tobacco industry.
Specifically, its purpose and objectives are to improve the economic and living conditions and consequently raise the quality of life of the tobacco farmers including those who depend upon the industry for their livelihood; and to promote a balanced and integrated growth and development of the tobacco industry to help make agriculture a solid basis for industrialization.
