WHAT is AKIN’s PLATFORM OF
GOVERNMENT?

1. To develop awareness and to distribute quality health care and social services to everyone;

2. To explore cheap and practical health solutions to recurring community illness;

3. To develop sound health practices to neglected urban communities and barangays;

4. To improve the environment of depressed and neglected communities

5. To support policies and laws for preventive and curative health care through five (5) major projects, namely;

a. Public health strategies and activities
b. Advocacy efforts on health, education,livelihood, environment
c. Capacity building
d. Medical missions
e. Feeding programs

6. To assist in the documentation and legal services for its members to avail of the government’s health and social services (Philhealth, SSS, GSIS, etc.)

7. To uplift the volunteer community health and social workers’ working conditions, knowledge and skills on health and social services

8. To establish the delivery of volunteer community health and social work services to urban depressed communities

9. To empower midwives, volunteer health and social workers through lectures, seminars, information dessimination,and trainings

10. To accredit midwives, volunteer health and social workers for civil preparedness in times of disasters and civic actions.

WHAT SECTOR DOES AKIN BELONG?
AKIN caters to urban poor people needing health and social work care left vacuum by the government service. AKIN would fill in the gap to alleviate the situation of the filipino people in their community crisis.

WHEN DO THE AKIN MEMBERS WORK?

In their daily life, the members lead in the implementation of the health, education, livelihood and environmental activities and projects they learned from AKIN.
In times of crisis, the members lead in the volunteer works in the evacuation centers and disaster relief operations with the concerned government agencies.

HOW ARE THE AKIN MEMBERS EMPOWERED?

Members are empowered through knowledge by lectures, seminars, trainings and symposiums given by AKIN after the issuance of the Certificates of Participation.

What is Akbay Kalusugan (AKIN) Inc.?
It is a group composed of volunteer workers on health and social work to protect and preserve the people’s health in the depressed communities.

Who can be AKIN Members?
(Qualifications)

Must believe in AKIN’S advocacy on health and/or social work.
Must be willing to uplift the conditions of volunteer community health and social work services in the depressed communities
3. Must be willing to participate in its health, education, livelihood and environmental projects and activities
4. Must be willing to work on the depressed or neglected urban communities

The Filipino people who are deprived of the basic quality health services or those who are sick and dying because they have no access to basic quality health care
