LCB Hymn
J.C. Macalinao

The Lourdes School of Bulacan
The pride of our dear land
Her aims are true to everyone
For God is our saviour and love
So come, come and embrace her
Enthrone her in your heart
Lourdes School, our Alma Mater
To cherish thee until we part
Oh come, come and be with her
The beacon light we find
For Lourdes School, our own true guide
That God has given us to love.

LCB History
"SEDES SAPIENTIAE" (Lat.), "SEAT OF WISDOM" (Eng.), "LUKLUKAN NG KARUNUNGAN" (Fil.); so the motto goes. It is from a 12th century devotion to Our Lady of Walsingham in England. Destroyed in 1538 under Henry VIII but in 1934 the pilgrimages to our lady as seat of WISDOM resumed again and today Walsingham is the center of Marian devotion of Catholic England.

In the hill country of Angat, a simple peasant woman and devotee of our lady by the name of FRANCISCA C. VALARAO married to Engr. ABELARDO VALARAO decided to share her fortune to the common folks. She, who finished a Bachelor's degree (college) at the age of 38 with all the hardships and struggles dreamed of an institution where knowledge and wisdom can be nurtured. In 1974, at the slope of Mt. Tugatog, (later named Veteransville), a mythical and legendary abode of anitos and diwatas, spring out Lourdes School of Bulacan with Mons. Macario Manahan as the first principal.

When Francisca C. Valarao (aka MOMMY, as her followers addressed her), entered politics in the early 60's, she realized that she could be more of service to her constituents by putting up a school. After which, she encouraged all the parents especially the mothers to send their children to school, more particularly the girls because her experience enlightened her that girls should not only be a caretaker where most parents thought of.

Mommy first opened the San Rafael Academy (now Our Lady of Mount Carmel College) in Sabang, Baliuag, Bulacan in 1966, and the Lourdes School of Bulacan (now Lourdes College of Bulacan). Both schools were dedicated to their town mates. Ironically, the couple was not an efucator by profession but their school outstand some other schools ahead of them.

Establishing the school was not given an approval in a silver platter. The founder encountered a lot of challenges from among its competitors down to the approving officer of the Department of Education Culture and Sports (now Department of Education). Even until the initial operation of the school, the management experienced of being lambasted and criticized by some groups. These heart breaking challenges did not shook the will of the founder yet gave her encourage and determination.

Such character touched the heart of good family friends, Celso Leuterio who joined her in the mission of helping the youth of Angat and nearby town until tertiary education. In 1984, after a decade of successfully providing high quality of primary and secondary education, the college department was opened. Since then it has continually excelled in giving its students well-rounded quality education with course offerings as follows: Bachelor in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, 2-year Computer Science Course, 2-year Computer Secretarial Course and 2-year Junior Secretarial Course.

As the school continued its operation with the help of close friends, its population grew and its services were selling like hot cakes from among those who were giving importance to the education of their children. Most of its students were coming from Bustos, Sa'n Rafael, Pandi, Norzagaray, Sta. Maria, DRT and Angat proper. Since then, LCB has produced graduates in the fields of Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine and Business who are now in the forefront service of government and private institutions.

With the proliferation of schools within the service area, LCB is still on-the-go and continuously strengthening its service facilities, academic programs, faculty line-up and development programs towards academic excellence. Inspired by its motto SEDES SAPIENTIAE or Seat of Wisdom, the LCB is hoping to be accredited the soonest possible.
