Lourdes College of Bulacan - College Dep't 3.9

The President and founder of the college is Mrs. Francisca C. Valarao. She founded the college in 1974 with few kinder and elementary enrollees. Few years later, she applied the secondary courses.
Due to the clamor of its secondary graduates for college courses be offered in the same college. In 1984 college courses was offered: The two-year Secretarial course, 4-year Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (BEED) and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) , Lately, the college offered the 2 year and 6 month TechVoc Laderized courses.
The college plans to offer new courses in the future. These are the following 4-year college courses: Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (BSE) major in Science, English and Mathematics. The college also intends to add more major field of study in BSBA. Information Communication Technology, Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology and Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management.
Mrs. Valarao is not an educator; rather she is a business woman by a profession. She has a number of businesses in Metro Manila and in Bulacan. She is a graduate of FEU Manila. In spite the fact that she is not an educator, she has the heart of looking forward to help her town mates uplift their socio-economic life, especially young children
Mrs. Valarao foremost concern was to improved the education of her town mates and inculcate values necessary for once success: Spiritual, Social, Moral, economic and political values was her foremost concern.
She entered politics with the belief that she could help her own mates. Improved their poor condition, especially so in the field of education. She was fortunate enough that she became the mayor of the town for a limited period of time. She was not able to served her town mates nor pursue her program for change and development of Angat. She was not discouraged of what happened. She was a dreamer for a better tomorrow of the town. She wanted to leave some legacies, especially to the young children of Angat. So, she established the college and thereby offered college courses. Many have graduated since it started operation in 1986. Many of its graduates are now successful. Some are working abroad. The rest are teachers and office employees in both public and private schools and offices.
In her speech in one of the commencement exercise of the college, she emphasized by saying “I want your children acquire some globally competitive skills; hence uplift their socio-economic conditions” she continued, she said in her closing statement “Ill pass this world but once, so allow me to do the best I can because I’ll never pass this world again.”
