Galileo is a fun, exciting and meaningful after-school enrichment program for children in Math and English inspired by Galileo Galilei, the father of modern science. The Galileo Enrichment Learning Program is an enrichment program which started as an advocacy to promote world-class education in the country. It was created by an academic pool of advisers who worked together and envisioned a nation proficient in Math and English skills. The program aims to improve the students’ academic aptitude by cultivating mastery of both subjects and developing a genuine love for learning. Each student enrolled in the program goes through a series of fun activities that are in line with a curriculum designed for each child. The program uses the “Telescopic Approach,” wherein each child is assessed according to his abilities. From results of his assessment, he is given exercises that will allow him to grow and to master the concepts presented to him. The program not only focuses on the concepts, but also shows him how these can be applied to real-life situations. Galileo believes that the real test in learning is in how the student is able to carry out what he has learned in the classroom to practical events beyond the classroom doors. The child enjoys different materials, such as manipulatives, flash cards, and computer games that will tap into his interests and will make learning fun and meaningful. Galileo is an open-ended Math and English program, which means that parents can enroll their children any time during the year. The program is individualized and follows each student’s progress based on his own pace. C hildren aged three (3) to twelve (12) are welcome to become part of the Galileo All-Star Team by being a Galileo student.
