Why investing in real estate properties is the best investment I had made?
Good evening everyone. This is my first time sharing something about my life in social media so bare with me.I worked for 10 years in an international cruise ship company.
I started working onboard at a young age of 24. After my first contract, I encash my dollar earnings at a money changer and I felt scared to bring a bag of money. I want to put it in a safe place and wait for it to grow. Like everyone else, I don't have any idea how to grow that money. I have thousand ideas how to spend it though :-) I was not trained at school about investing. I don't have idea managing a business. So, I invest a potion of my money to time deposit. Feeling proud. After 2 years, I went back to the bank and I ask how much is the earnings of 250k. To my surprise, minus the taxes, documentary stamp bla bla blah I earned 2,000 from the interest. I was disappointed. I could spend the 2,000 in a single restaurant bill. Anyway, I had an internet shop and it gave me a good earnings for few years but competition will crush you. It turned out my competitor use jumper while I am paying 10k electricity bill every month ggrrrrrr. I also had 2 burger shop & RTW business but it didn't work. So again and again, I need to back to the ship and work work work. I am getting tired of this. I though if I could work abroad my life would be better but it didn't. My first good investment was buying a land road along the national highway. I plan to build a building in the future. A need arise from my family to buy a house ASAP. So I bought 2 house located in the same property. I bought it like a bargain because it's 2 house for the price of one and it is located in Iloilo city itself with many schools and hospitals nearby. 1 house is bungalaw type with 4 spacious room and and the other house is 3 level apartment type. The bank allowed me to loan only 1.2M and I need more money to pay the owner. I sold the land that I first bought and it gave me a 50,000 net profit in 3 years time. Isn't it great? My property increased in value over time. Now one of the house earns income from the rent. The the other house is where my family stays. I have few offers from buyers who plans to buy my houses for it is only few meters from a school and they will be accepting college students soon but I haven't decided yet If I will sell it or not.
