Catarman national high school Catarman National High School is a government institution which operates through HB # 418, sponsored by Assemblyman Edilberto A. Del Valle. June 10, 1983 marked the formal opening of the said high school, with Ruble Rubenecia as the school principal. CNHS as popularized by the community people was first housed in the old Gabaldon building, now the BUlwagan ng mga Guro, in the Division Office. In 1988, the school through purchased acquired its own school site with an area of 2.8 hectares situated near the Tamburusan Beach. CNHS could be found easily using the specific boundaries as; North- Pacific Ocean, South – National Road, East – Provincial Capitol and West – Tara Subdivision. It is also accessible to all types of transportations. Way back 1983 CNHS has a total number of 300 first year students. Until school year 1996 it has a gradual increase in population. It was during school year 1997 with new management that the population has increased rapidly. Being a government school CNHS caters to giving basic educational services. It is presently headed by a principal IV, assisted by 5 head teachers as representative of the 5 subjects or department, supported by the support staff and personnel. This school enjoys fiscal autonomy and presently implementing the school based management.Its services are focused to attaining quality instruction and competitive graduates and students ready to practice education as laboratory of life. In terms of programs and projects the school follows the School Improvement Plan which operates for (3) years starting the school year 2007-2010. Stakeholders both internal and external are part in the implementation of the school’s programs and projects but not limited to monitoring and evaluation. For this school year, this school attained considerable performance both academic and non-academic. So to speak, with the cooperation and support of the above mentioned stakeholders this school continues to be a School of Choice or a Premier School in the Division.
