Waitakere Half Marathon & 11/5 and 2km Fun Runs 3.68

The Waitakere Fun Run & Half Marathon Charitable Event provides something for everyone: a 2km for the kids, 5km or 11km run or walk or the challenge of a half marathon. While the half marathoners are very serious(some of them anyway) this is all about community and everyone having a go!

The event centre is held at Waitemata Rugby Club, and a course that provides new challenges, experiences and picturesque landscapes. Making use of some of West Auckland's unique urban path ways, project twin streams and much more - it’s not all on the roadside.

This is perfect timing out for a final burnout if you are doing the Auckland Marathon or Half Marathon!

The Waitakere Half Marathon & Fun Runs have been an annual iconic event within the West Auckland region, and has history spanning back 20 years. From it's humble beginnings (with only 237 entrants), the Waitakere Half Marathon & Fun Runs has grown and attracts more than 700 entrants each year.

The event, launched and created by the WESTY Trust (Waitakere Events Supporting Talented Youth), has contributed enormously to the well-being of the Waitakere region. Profits from the event goes to the WESTY Trust whose aim, is to support and promote talented youth in Waitakere City in respect of their aspirations in sport, education and/or cultural pursuits. In the past the WESTY Trust has supplied funding for West Auckland you to attend Outward Bound, Spirit of Adventure trips, as well as the initiative Sporting Chance.

The event now in its 20th year, and is managed by Sport Waitakere with all races supported and guided by Lactic Turkey, who have been organizing events for more than 16 years. Come and join in the Waitakere Half Marathons and Fun Runs as we build up to our 21st Anniversary next year.
