The Steel Workshop 2.25

My name is Tish, and I want to share the fun and excitement by educating the younger generation with the sounds of steel drums. This instrument is the national instrument of Trinidad & Tobago, and is played around the world as part of steel band orchestras, as well as a single instrument within all types of band genres.
New Zealand is one of the youngest countries to engage with the pan, and I want to bring it to schools and use this instrument to create something wonderful and fun!
The Steel Drum is a great tool at working both sides of the brain at once. It teaches co-ordination. It teaches the importance of working together as a team. It also creates happiness and joy when performing, while also captivating audiences around you! The Steel Workshop brings pans to your location, teaching how to play the instrument and learning styles of Calypso and Soca, traditional cultural music from The Caribbean.
