The Learning Centre & WFS covers the following topics —

Budget planning:

We will help you to develop a budget plan and provide strategies to help you balance your budget. Learn about variable and fixed expenses, weekly, monthly and annual expenses, and account for these in your budget plan.

Creditors ledger and debt schedules:

Learn how to develop and manage a creditors ledger and keep track of all debts through schedules.

Cashflows:

Learn to use a system to manage your income and expenses. You will be able to create a 12 week or 12 month cashflow plan to identify the high expense weeks and plan for them successfully.

Record keeping:

We can help you to develop a system to keep all your records in and develop a weekly, monthly and annual record keeping system.

Negotiating with creditors:

We can negotiate with creditors on your behalf and when you are confident we can work by your side.

Literacy & Numeracy Service
What is Literacy?

Literacy is defined as listening, speaking, reading, writing and critical thinking interwoven with the knowledge of social and cultural practices.

What is Numeracy?

Numeracy involves all types of measurement, distance, time, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and currency in numeric, alpha or symbol forms.

What is Technology?

If you are an adult, and having difficulty with reading, writing, spelling or maths — the Learning Centre can help you with:

Computer literacy
Communication literacy
Family literacy
Cultural literacy
One-to-one literacy
Numeracy
We work with students individually, then when (or if) you are ready to know more we can work in small groups.

Road Safety Programme
About the Road Safety Programme

At the Learning Centre we will coach you on how to answer the questions in preparation to sit the Road Code theory test. More importantly, we will help you understand the rules and regulations of the road and why they exist.

Learner Licence Course

This is a 6-week programme designed to support learning to achieve the Learner Licence.

Restricted Driver Licence

We will also support those with a Learner Licence as they prepare to sit for the Restricted Licence.

StreetTalk Defensive Driving Training

The StreetTalk Defensive Driving course will help you gain NZQA units, and is designed to give you 6 months off your waiting time for the Restricted Licence.
Please note that this course is the only programme that the Learning Centre is not able to fund.

Mature Driving Course

The Mature Driving Course is a 50 years and over).
It helps you to think about the way you drive, and you can discuss any problems you may be having on the road (such as with local roundabouts and intersections), and increase your knowledge of current road rules and recent law changes.
The course also covers:

Hazard identification
Road user responsibility
Conditions that can affect your safety
Road rules and tips
Self analysis
Decision making
Route planning
By learning how to pre-plan your trips, staying on familiar routes and avoiding well known trouble spots, you will become a safer driver.
