Nelson Cadet Unit 2.5

Nelson Cadet Unit is a Nelson youth organisation which falls under the structure and support of New Zealand Cadet Forces.

We parade on a Tuesday night between the hours of 1830 and 2100.

Recruitment age for cadets is between 13-16 or attending secondary school.

NCU operates an open door policy, anyone interested is invited to attend any parade night where information can be sought and the new entrant program explored.

We train in Drill, Navigation, First aid, Shooting, Casualty evacuation, RATEL, Military history and most importantly Leadership.

NCU operates under a military style structure with a promotion system that encourages all cadets to improve their leadership and communication skills.
