Haere mai! Welcome to Burwood Playcentre!

Burwood Playcentre started in the All Saints' Church Hall in 1954, and along with Plunket, moved to a purpose-built centre in 1971. In time, we moved to the present building on New Brighton Road. This has been an ideal building for us, with a lovely outside area and huge double-layered sandpit.

At Burwood we have a fantastic team of
Coordinators who are dedicated to giving your child the enriching learning environment they deserve. Working within the Te Whaariki framework, they present with an extensive range of experiences, training and expertise to support the development of our children in the centre.

Every term we enjoy social events that involve the whole whanau. These gatherings are well supported by our centre families and a wonderful chance for the children to share this special place with their loved ones.

On session, you may find us exploring our community โ€“ such as bus rides to New Brighton and the library, trips to local attractions, and visits to and from Burwood Primary School. Between these exciting adventures and the stimulating environment within the centre, you can be sure that your child will be benefiting from a quality early childhood setting.

Our centre is fortunate to have a regular contingent of Dads each morning, adding their expertise to our busy sessions. Burwood Playcentre has a wonderful mix of babies to school-aged children, providing positive interactions and offering children the chance to lead and to learn from others. We enjoy a vegetable garden, singing, messy play, painting, carpentry and a whole range of fun, educational things to do. There are so many things to do that are often not able to be offered at home, providing an exciting environment for your child to extend their physical, cognitive and social skills.

Burwood Playcentre is not just a place for children, this is also a great place to share stories, build relationships and learn more about child development. We have a really dedicated group of parents and caregivers who make Burwood a happy and progressive place to be.

We love to have new families, whanau, and caregivers join us at Burwood. Please call in during session times on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 9.15am-12.15pm and play with us or please txt Tracey on
