Apron Empowered is a hobby turned business right here, truly home grown and is dedicated to creating and serving hand made vegan desserts.

It all started in 2012 when I turned vegan as a part of my New Years resolution. Determined not to let delicious desserts staring at me from cabinets of cafes and restaurants get the best of me, I started making them myself. With a few failures and a few burnt loaves I baked my first - empowered 101 - The carrot loaf.

In 2013, upon returning to New Zealand, I was greeted with a 'sorry, we don't have anything for you' at almost every place I visited. One can compromise on the mains and eat a salad for lunch and dinner... But desserts?? Am I never to have dessert outside again??

Ever since, with desserts on our minds and the welfare of animals at heart, we here at Apron Empowered are committed to vegan-ize conventional desserts and create a few new ones. So come pick one up for a birthday or even just an after dinner treat. We promise to not let your taste buds down.
