ArtEZ Master Theatre Practices 2.9

The ArtEZ Master of Theatre Practices aims to support practice-as-research in the field of the performing arts. The Master supports artistic practice through research, by means of theory, peer sessions and mentoring by respected (guest) artists and theorists.

The Master programme is open to directors, choreographers, dramaturges, dancers, actors, mime and performance artists. The strength of the programme is that it enables students to position their artistic research within a larger context, while working as artists. The Master provides time and space for in-depth learning and reflection.

The Master of Theatre Practices at ArtEZ offers:
• high-quality education with respected artists and theorists from the national and international professional field (such as Jonathan Burrows, Lotte van den Berg, Janez Janša, Bruno Listopad, Meg Stuart, Dood Paard) and individual mentoring
• partially residential, a stimulating mix of lectures, research intensives, seminars, workshops, performance visits, individual tutorials and peer sessions.

Graduates obtain an internationally recognized Master’s degree. These artists contribute to the development and research of artistic practices within their fields. Graduates critically envision a future for artistic practice and are able to position themselves in a complex and changing world.
