ArtEZ Bachelor of Dance 3.4

The Bachelor of Dance programme
● offers a combined profile for Dancer and Maker and an individual teaching approach which focuses on students’ artistic and cultural identity
● trains students to become individual, contemporary, and international dancers and dance makers who are able to perform, produce, collaborate and self-initiate projects in a continually changing world and a changing profession.
● is based on periodisation (which originated in sports); a healthy alternation of lessons-rehearsals-presentations.
● operates within a changing international work field, which means it possesses an extensive, active international network
● invests in (theoretical) research and seeks the support of international lecturers in doing so. This helps the continued development and greater flexibility of the school’s profile and that of dance education.

Graduated Dancers/Makers are able to sustain themselves, but can also (re)generate, create and develop themselves to meet the new and continually adapting environment that is the dance profession today. The Dancer/Maker can flourish as a freelance practitioner.
