United Cities and Local Governments of Africa is the umbrella organization and the united voice and representative of local government in Africa.
Our mission is to:
Promote decentralization in Africa and African local governments as a distinct and autonomous sphere of government.

Contribute to the building of African Unity through local governments dynamism aiming at transforming the “Africa of Nations” into the “Africa of People”.

Support the setting up and empowerment of national associations of local governments and of individual governments to deliver on their mandates and to engage into structured dialogues with central governments and others pertinent stakeholders.

Promote exchange of experiences and best practices among African local governments and with local governments from other regions of the world, the flagship of such platforms of exchange being the Africities Summit organized on a triennial basis by the UCLG Africa.

Cités et Gouvernements Locaux Unis d’Afrique est l’organisation faîtière et la voix unie assurant la représentation des collectivités locales de l’ensemble du continent africain.

Notre mission est de:
Promouvoir la décentralisation en Afrique et au sein des collectivités locales africaines en tant que sphères autonomes et distinctes de gouvernement.

Contribuer à l'unité du continent africain grâce au dynamisme des collectivités locales, et permettre de transformer « l’Afrique des Nations » en « Afrique des Peuples ».

Aider à la fois à la mise en place d'associations nationales de collectivités locales, à leur autonomisation, et veiller à ce que les gouvernements s’acquittent de leurs mandats et s’engagent dans des dialogues structurés avec les gouvernements centraux et d’autres parties prenantes pertinentes.

Promouvoir l'échange d'expériences et de meilleures pratiques, entre les gouvernements locaux africains, et avec les gouvernements locaux d'autres régions du monde, le fleuron de ces plates-formes d'échange étant le Sommet Africités organisé selon un calendrier triennal par CGLUA.
