Artistic Director: Domenique Delafield, American born and raised, began studying ballet at the age of 5; later accepted by audition per the French ballerina, Nanette Glusack, to the professional school in Fort Worth, Texas. She studied three summers with the Balanchine ballerina, Suzanne Farrell, in upstate New York. At 16, she went to study at the prestigious Lediyakh Academy in Moscow, Russia. While dancing professionally as a soloist in a Texas ballet company directed by Russians, she graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington. Among her subjects were biology/kinesiology for dancers and athletes, dancer psychology, jazz/modern, and choreography. Also, she has three certifications in sports medicine and she is a certified school teacher in Texas. The most exciting part of her career was dancing professionally and touring for 4 years with two Russian ballet companies. In Saint Petersburg, Russia, she performed 100 performances in the Tzar's Winter Palace, The Hermitage. She toured with Russian ballet companies to the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and New Zealand dancing classical repertoire such as “Swan Lake”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “The Nutcracker”, “Cinderella”, and “Giselle”.
