The weaving tradition owes its genesis to Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, who ruled the princely state of Indore from Maheshwar during the last half of the 18th century. Maheshwar saris were famous throughout India due to the patronage of the Royal House of Holkar.








ABOUT WEAVERS PROGRAM.

Handloom employment is a greatest resource for Maheshwar citizen. Many skilled weavers of Maheshwar are doing their business successfully as handloom clothing product and also earning modest profit.
This is a traditional work which is coming from the 18th century.
The most important challenge of it is that modern young generation is not adopting this tradition. They are looking this as a boring job.
but we r reviving it and promoting young weaver's for dooing their family buisness.
