Seema 4.33

Seema is a youth-led organization that empowers over forty low-income women from eleven rural villages near Pune, India. Instead of simply providing a marketplace for experienced artisans, Seema works with those who would not otherwise have such an opportunity. Jewelry making techniques are taught and perfected at monthly meetings and the collection is made regularly at community centres within the villages.

Besides supporting the artisans, Seema also subsidizes educational opportunities for local children by donating a portion of its profits to an organization named Akshara.
