Oriental College - autonomous Takyel,IMPHAL 3.81

Eminent Politician cum Social activist ,(Late)N. Ibomcha Singh, popularly known as Tera-Lai, under whose leadership the College was established in the year 1963.
Oriental College is a Government Institution situated at Takyel, 3 Km. from the heart of Imphal City, along the National Highway No.57. it was established in 1963 as a private college with physical and monetary support from some voluntary people of the locality. The College gradually developed after it was given recurring grant-in-aid by the Government of Manipur. The College was taken over by the Government of Manipur on the 4th September, 1978. it was recognised by the UGC under Sections 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act, 1956 in 1988. the College was affiliated to Manipur University in 1980. Now its an autonomous college under Manipur Universtity for bringing quality education to the state and to nation for the students who are willing to learn and to become a leader for better society of tomorrow.
