Our country has a dubious distinction of having the largest no. of fatal accidents i.e. vehicular accidents {two wheeler accidents in particular}Secondly we have the highest incidence of cardio-vascular diseases. i.e. heart attacks,diabetes,hypertension etc in the world.The root cause of this scenario is , we SHUN physical labour.
Our children choose sports and games which demands lesser physical activity. Ask your child to choose from videogames/cricket/athletics/cycling/ hockey/football Most probably they will choose the first two from the list above.
We Indians do not respect people who do physical labour. We do not allow our children to toil hard. We yearn to give them maximum comfort, We protect them overzealously we drop/pickup them from schools then their is a pick up van then the grown up urban child pics up his/her choicest bike/ scooteret and the end result is mentioned as above.
Most importantly our NGO MSSION OLYMPICS strives and endures at grass root level and supports the upcoming talent in olympic sport and at large we support cycling. We work especially for that kid of the have nots who dreams about olympics because this child does not get the support he needs at this level, the very moment he expresses his dream about a sports career he is discouraged by his parents,teachers, friends etc. and a million talent is crushed under the burden of tutions, schooling. The child falls prey to the expectations of his parents, piers, teachers. We do not dare give him a chance we end up like the THREE IDIOTS we are not striving for excellence. Here comes our role.
