Sevabharati is a NGO run by Social Service Wing of Rashtriya Swayansevak Sangh from year 1989, as a mark of birth centenary of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar founder sarsanghchalak of RSS.
Project started with a Mobile Clinic serving the peasant, worker and downtrodden population at 8 villages in vicinity of ichalkaranji and 1 urban slum in the city. We treat around 30-35000 patients every year for last 25 years at almost negligible cost Rs.2/-per patient. As per requirement we further enhanced our services gradually by starting projects like pathological laboratory, a day care centre & polyclinic (specialist consultation) running at almost 20% of charges outside.
Along with medical activities we are working in field of education, Madhav Vidya Mandir - a primary Marathi medium school, Eklavya Abhyasika - study hall for students from worker class in textile industry of ichalkaranji. For upliftment of women - Bhagini Nivedita Shivankala Kendra is run where women are given certificate course in dress making which has helped many women's to fetch their survival.
As a step forward in providing affordable and quality medical service to the beneficiaries we have started Dr. Hedgewar Rugnalay since June 2011. A full fledged hospital with an OPD running round the clock (45000 appr. beneficiated so far), indoor facility with 32 bed, central oxygen and other aminities (above 2000 patients benefited) Polyclinic with 26 consultants from various faculties give their services for social cause. A well equipped operation theatre where we have done 125 major and 45 minor surgeries so far.

At our hospital we provide service at very very low cost, rates are subsidized up to almost 60% of rates charged today by professional hospitals in the vicinity. This helps the common man, worker, farmers and downtrodden to overcome their health problems. This is the class which makes no financial provision for their health emergencies and always suffer at the hands of money lenders. In this era of inflation our services are boon to patients, (for example we charge around Rs. 5000/- for an appendicitis surgery or Rs. 7500/- for a hysterectomy including medicine this is almost 40% of what is charged nowadays outside.)
