Inaugurated in November 1986, the foundation of an idea to start the Avatar Meher Baba - Jubilee Hills Center started with a letter from Mr. Aloba (Ali Akbar Shapurzaman) to Mr. RSN Murthy, stating his intention to visit Hyderabad in March 1982. He repeatedly mentioned that this trip to Hyderabad is inwardly inspired by Baba. This led to Mr. RSN Murthy to be motivated to initiate efforts to build a bigger Centre in Hyderabad. As a gesture to help the efforts, Mr. PC Kasi Reddy came forward to donate his plot at Jubilee Hills to be used for building the center. Subsequently, Mr. Reddy arranged for the plot to be transferred with the assistance of Mr. Kavuri Kutumba Rao - then President of the Ravindra Co-op society and the registration was completed on October 4, 1982. A construction committee was instated with the following people as members:

- Mr. RSN Murthy, Chairman
- Mr. VS Rao, Vice-Chairman
- Mr. MRK Sarma (Secretary)
- Mr. B Ramakrishnaiah (Treasurer)

The foundation stone for the center was laid by Mr. Aloba on March 31, 1982 at 9.30 AM, giving strength to the ‘deeper significance’ of Aloba’s visit. On-Spot donations on that day amounted to Rs. 30,000. Mr. Aloba also stayed at the center for a second time from March 21-24, 1983 and predicted that Centre under construction would become a notable Centre in the world. The first Sahavas at the site was conducted on May 2, 1982 and constructed work was taken up on November 28, 1982. The difficult task of providing electricity to such a remote place was made possible with the persistent efforts of Baba lovers like MRK Sarma.

The inauguration of the center took place on November 14, 1986 by Mr. Aloba and a two-day Sahavas was held for the same. Approx. 4000 lovers from across the globe participated in the Sahavas. Many subsequent additions have been made to the estate.

It is of notable significance that Mrs. Nori Seethamma was very instrumental and the main motivation for the construction of the guest house that has been named after Mehera Mai. This was inaugurated by Mr. Aloba on May 8, 1994. A new guest room for important visitors was inaugurated by Bhau Kalchuri on October 14, 2001.

It will also be an incomplete attempt to talk about the history of the center without mentioning the untiring services provided by Dr. T Venkata Swamy and his brother Mr. T Panduranga Murthy. Without their personal & continued support, the beautiful garden here wouldn't have been possible. Mr. Murthy stayed at the center to supervise the garden work personally and stayed for about 6 years to help build and maintain the garden.

The Center now holds a guest house, seminar room, dining hall, kitchen, boundary wall, landscaping of the premises, a projection system, bore well, quarters for Bahadur - the security person, stage renovation and an amphitheater. Recent additions over the past few days include a fish-pond, water-harvesting system and an improved parking lot.
