Over the past two decades TZOHAR labored to
provide Halachic services to the general populous in Israel that are non-coercive, sensitive and personal becoming one of the most prominent brands of Jewish identity in Israel. TZOHAR has directly impacted hundreds of thousands of families, nurturing moderate, rabbinic leadership and shaping public policy. TZOHAR has emerged as a powerful national movement of 1,000 Zionist rabbis and women volunteers who are leading the revolution for an ethical, inclusive & inspiring
Jewish Israel.

To facilitate a strong Jewish Israel, TZOHAR recognizes the need to engage the Halachic issues facing Israel’s society in a practical way that is accessible and sensitive to all Israelis. With this in mind, TZOHAR has established three pillars of activity:

1. GRASSROOTS SERVICES & OUTREACH

TZOHAR engages the Israeli community on a grassroots level, facilitating Halachic marriages, proof of Jewish ancestry and providing annual Jewish holiday programs. TZOHAR is Israel’s leading force in battling intermarriage and in enriching Israeli culture with Jewish heritage.

2. RABBINIC LEADERSHIP

Rabbinic leaders in Israel have outstanding Halachic, social and political impact. TZOHAR grooms a professional and influential cadre of modern Zionist rabbinic leaders who can engage the general public and play a significant part in positively shaping the future of Jewish life in Israel.

3. PUBLIC POLICY

Israel’s democracy is unique in that its early founders, agreeing that its existence depends largely on preserving its Jewish character, decided to integrate religion and state. TZOHAR drives advocacy and legislation in the Knesset and supports Israel’s public leaders by supplying extensive research and Jewish content. TZOHAR has a successful track record informing the media and rallying the public to advance its mission of creating an ethical, inclusive and inspiring Jewish Israel.

TZOHAR has enacted far reaching projects that positively impact Israel’s society at the crucial
junctures of their lives.

HALACHIC MARRIAGES

Over 80,000 secular brides & grooms have enjoyed meaningful Halachic Jewish ceremonies
preserving their Jewish tradition and providing a continuous chain to the next generation.

SHORASHIM - PROOVING JEWISH ROOTS

Over 20,000 immigrants from FSU and South & North America have benefited from TZOHAR’s
“Shorashim’s Forensic Unit” proving their Jewish roots and affording them the ability to enjoy a full
rich Jewish life in Israel.

ANNUAL CYCLE

TZOHAR hosts services for Jewish holidays throughout Israel offering a non-coercive traditional experience that is enjoyed by over 50,000 participants every year. This is an integral part of TZOHAR’s aim to enrich Israeli culture with Jewish content.

TZOHAR provides critical support to Knesset members supplying extensive research and Jewish content. TZOHAR has been invited to participate in 149 legislative Procedures & Knesset Committees. With a focus on social justice, human rights and economic ethics TZOHAR advances its mission of creating an ethical, inclusive & inspiring Jewish Israel.

COMMUNITY RABBIS

Community Rabbis can have a great influence over communities by the slightest nuance or action.

TZOHAR has provided pastoral & professional training to over 200 rabbis across Israel, including rabbinical graduates, community rabbis and leading Roshei Yeshivot.

VOLUNTEERS

TZOHAR”S mission is important to the entire Israeli Jewish community and enjoys the support and efforts of over 1,000 rabbinical & women volunteers who work day & night to help ensure the continuity of a unified Jewish generation in Israel.
