Rakdanim Dance Company is comprised of young adult dancers, sharing in the creative process and performing in a modern and imaginative style. The dancers in the company are dancers who are ready to respond to physical and creative challenges, with a work style that demand their skills as members of a creative group, both thinking about and contributing to the creative process.
The new company is home to dancers who, towards the end of years of training, are ready to enter the world of professional dance, dreaming to develop further. One idea that lies behind the establishment of the company is the participation of young dancers, who are serving in the IDF, (Israel Defense Force). These young soldiers who are dancers, participate in ballet and modern classes and rehearsals that take place also on weekends and later hours in the evening, and so they can practice, get stronger, perform and stay in shape. On completion of military service, they could remain as permanent members of the company, or explore other dance companies.
The founder of the company, Ionathan Ivan Feller, was a professional ballet dancer from many international dance company; also a choreographer for different companies, (in Israel with Batsheva Dance Company and Bat-Dor Dance Company); as well as a master ballet teacher and stage designer.
