Adolescence is a time of great change and development with ever increasing pressures from social media, increasing levels of stress and anxiety. It is important that young people can recognise these stress factors and most importantly their effects and how to deal with them. NO LIMITS provides young people the opportunity to try new activities in a social fun environment and work as part of a team. NO LIMITS hosts the first in a series of sports/activities based days for students throughout December, in partnership with HSE Psychology and Health Promotion. We are offering schools and education centre’s the opportunity to attend this innovative, exciting one day event. We aim to promote a proactive approach to maintaining positive mental health through a variety of group based activities and sports. The day will also involve a short presentation on the importance of looking after our mental health, including proactive steps we can take to safeguard our mental health, and what to do/where to go when things are not going well.
We hold the philosophy that everyone has different talents that should be nurtured and have incorporated this viewpoint into the design of this event. On the day students from schools in the North West will be broken up into teams, working together and competing in a variety of different activities.
Activities will include but are not limited to:

•Tag Rugby
•School Sports Day Events
•Team Building Games
•Ultimate Dodgeball
•Tennis
•Crazy Scientist
•Thump Boxing
•The Ultimate Physical Challenge

We aim to foster an attitude of social inclusion and sportsmanship, through our experienced staff facilitating each activity. Our activity days are delivered by trained coaches who are passionate about the personal development of young people.

NO LIMITS aim to promote positive mental health through the 5 ways to wellbeing:

•Connecting with others,
•Being Active on a daily basis,
•Taking Notice of what’s happening around you,
• Keep Learning:
•Give back to your community, friends or family.

At NO LIMITS we will help students take ownership over there mental health, help to build confidence and self esteem, encourage participation in new activities, encourage students to live in the moment, stop worrying about the past, and stressing over the future.

At the moment transition year students have been the main focus of the activity days but NO LIMITS will be rolled out to other years in 2015.
