A fantastic detached farmhouse located on the outskirts of Fahan, overlooking the Lough Swilly (where John Newton famously wrote Amazing Grace) in County Donegal. Well-furnished throughout, with stunning views, this cottage is an excellent base for a group of family and friends to get together and explore the north west of Ireland. With two cosy bedrooms upstairs, the ground floor is home to a well-equipped kitchen and dining area giving it a more communal feel by keeping everyone together, while a tasty meal is being rustled up. Once everyone has had their fill, make your way into the sitting room which has comfortable furniture and a solid fuel stove, perfect for taking it easy while you warm your toes after an action packed day of being out and about. With the sun shining, why not take yourself out the front of the cottage and relax with a well-earned drink sitting out and enjoying the view as the day draws to an end? You don’t have far to go to find yourself in the nearby town of Fahan which will tend to your basic needs, and while you’re there, find a pub and mingle with the locals. Travel a little further afield and visit the likes of Buncrana and practice your swing at the local golf course. Alternatively, take a stroll along the sandy beach stretching for three to four miles if the tides allow it. The Inishowen Peninsula is home to spectacular views and a range of charming seaside towns and villages each with plenty of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants for you to sample and review.
