Mutiara SIS Al-Jufrie Airport, formerly Masowu Airport, is an airport near Palu, a city in the province of Central Sulawesi on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. The airport was inaugurated in October 1957 by Indonesian President, Soekarno. The new terminal was opened on 13 April 2014.NameThis name was given by the President during his visit to Palu on October 10, 1957, as a form concerns. Sukarno then asked the name of this airfield to the Regent Rajawali Pusadan. Airport name is proposed to be renamed Mutiara Airport SIS Al-Jufrie to honor national hero origin Central Sulawesi, Sayyied Al-Habib Idrus Bin Salim Al-Jufrie.Future planningThe airport is located at an altitude of 86 meters above sea level, has a paved surface of the runway designation numbers 15/33 measuring 2,067 x 45 meters so that a 13/31 measuring 2,750 x 45 meters, capable of handling Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.Central Sulawesi government, is being recast this airport into an international airport in view of the high interest of the population in Central Sulawesi to air transport.FacilitiesThe airport resides at an elevation of 86m above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 15/33 with an asphalt surface measuring 2,250 m x 45 m (7,381 ft × 148 ft). A new terminal which has 3 aerobridge was inaugurated on April 2014, replacing the old terminal, which has been demolished to make way for the apron of the new terminal.
