Asian Physics Olympiad 2016 3.07

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology will be the organizer of 17th Asian Physics Olympiad during 1-9 May 2016 (APhO 2016). APhO is an annual premier physics competition for pre-university students in Asia modelled after the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO).

Since its inception in 2000, the competition has brought over 1,500 high school physics students from more than 30 countries/regions together to demonstrate their talents in tackling challenging theoretical and experimental questions set by foremost academics in the realm. The competitions are complemented by plenary talks delivered by eminent scholars including Nobel Laureates and visits to attractions to explore culture and scenery of the city.
