Europe Direct - Αμερικανική Γεωργική Σχολή AFS 3.95

Το Κέντρο Ευρωπαϊκής Πληροφόρησης Europe Direct της Αμερικανικής Γεωργικής Σχολής λειτουργεί υπό την αιγίδα της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής από το 2005 και αποτελεί συνέχεια του Κέντρου Αγροτικής Πληροφόρησης που φιλοξενήθηκε επίσης στη Σχολή από το 1998.

To Κέντρο έχει στόχο α) να παρέχει πληροφόρηση στους πολίτες σε θέματα τοπικού και ευρωπαϊκού ενδιαφέροντος και σημασίας και β) να αποτελεί μια πλατφόρμα επικοινωνίας και ανατροφοδότησης ανάμεσα στους πολίτες σε τοπικό επίπεδο και τα ευρωπαϊκά θεσμικά όργανα.

Ειδικότερα, το Κέντρο Ευρωπαϊκής Πληροφόρησης Europe Direct της Αμερικανικής Γεωργικής Σχολής:

Παρέχει πληροφόρηση και απαντήσεις σε ερωτήματα πολιτών σε όπως η άσκηση των δικαιωμάτων τους, η ελεύθερη μετακίνησή τους για εργασία, σπουδές, διαμονή, περίθαλψη στην ΕΕ, δυνατότητες χρηματοδότησης, αναζήτηση νομοθεσίας κ.α.

Διοργανώνει ενημερωτικές και εκπαιδευτικές δράσεις σε συνεργασία με φορείς και οργανισμούς της Θεσσαλονίκης και της Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας σε ευρύ φάσμα θεμάτων, όπως η εκπαίδευση, το περιβάλλον, το κοινοτικό δίκαιο, η απασχόληση, η γεωργία, η επιχειρηματικότητα, η δια βίου μάθηση, και γενικότερα θέματα ευρωπαϊκής και τοπικής προτεραιότητας.

Διαθέτει ενημερωτικό υλικό και παρέχει πρόσβαση στα επίσημα έγγραφα, τη νομοθεσία, και τις εκδόσεις των Ευρωπαϊκών Οργάνων με θέμα την έρευνα, στατιστικές, παιδικές εκδόσεις, εκθέσεις και περιοδικές εκδόσεις.

The Europe Direct American Farm School operates under the umbrella of the European Commission since 2005, and is the continuation of the Carrefour Agricultural Information Relay, hosted by the school since 1998.

The Center belongs to a pan european information network and aims to a) inform the citizens on European issues of local interest and of importance to them and b) to act as an interface between citizens and the EU at local level, promoting local and regional debate about the EU and its policies c) give the public the opportunity to send feedback to the EU institutions in the form of questions, opinions and suggestions and allow the European institutions to improve the dissemination of information accustomed to local and regional needs.


More specifically, the Center:


Enables local citizens to obtain information, answers and assistance to questions about the EU’s institutions, legislation, policies, programs and funding opportunities and explains what the EU does and why it is relevant to the people of Thessaloniki and Central Macedonia and how to exercise the rights deriving from their EU citizenship.

Organizes and supports events and engages in outreach activities with schools on a wide spectrum of themes and particularly on education and training, environment, entrepreneurship, agriculture, employability, social issues and generally life in the EU.

Provides access to information, publications and electronic material on the role of the EU and how it operates, and displays material on a variety of topics and views on the EU, such as research, legislation, reports, statistics, children publications and many more
