Lycée Al Horreya Héliopolis, also known as Lycée La Liberté D'Héliopolis is a French-language school in Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt. Other Lycée Al Horreya campuses are located in Bab El Louk, El Haram, Maadi and Zamalek.HistoryLycée La Liberté D'Héliopolis opened in 1937 by the ''Mission Laïque Française.CampusThe school's sports facilities include separate football, basketball and handball courts. The theatre presents Arabic and French plays and shows. The school's library is named after Tarek Hamdi, a former student who died in the War of Attrition. In the 1980s, Layla Elwy - the now famous actress - attended the Secondary section. She used to act in the school theatre activities with other fellow students amongst which is Khaled Elgewely.CurriculumAn English language section is in the process of being added to the primary school section.
