Abstract

Proceeding from our belief that we (students) must play a major role in development of our country and trying to apply aspects of scientific thinking among student's life style, we thought to establish the EAGE student chapter at Ain Shams University, trying to help us and each other to think with another point of view and also to think out of the box for & with applying more and new techniques of academic study and connect it to geosciences industrial field and because we believe that the knowledge is the power that we aim to develop the method of thinking and the mentality to reach our destination and our top goal as we dream to (Egyptian geosciences students become more desirable job applicant not only inside Egypt but also overseas after graduation)

EAGE is a professional association for geoscientists and engineers. Founded in 1951, it is an organization with a worldwide membership providing a global network of commercial and academic professionals. The association is truly multi-disciplinary and international in form and pursuits.

Mission
The objectives of the Association shall be to promote the development and application of geosciences and related engineering subjects, to promote innovation and technical progress and to foster the communication, fellowship and cooperation between those working in, studying or
otherwise being interested in these fields.

Benefits of membership.
All members of EAGE are professionally involved in (or studying) geophysics, petroleum exploration, geology, reservoir engineering, mining and civil engineering. The EAGE operates two divisions: the Oil & Gas Geoscience Division and the Near Surface Geoscience Division.

EAGE organises the following activities for its members:

-Events (conferences, exhibitions, workshops)

-Educational Programmes (short courses, lectures)
-Student Programmes
-Recruitment

EAGE’s Head Office is located in the Netherlands, its Regional Offices in Houten (Europe Office), Moscow (Russia & CIS Office), Dubai (Middle East Office) and Kuala Lumpur (Asia Pacific Office).

Mission
As we target to make university students more desirable job applicant that will be done by not only offering them a conventional courses but also by offering:
1-practical workshops
2-effective competition among students
3-and projects held by professors of geoscience in different universities in Egypt and
geoscientists that actually work in the field in governmental companies or multinational ones .
4-Hold sessions & workshops about human resource field to improve soft skills and the
ability of making a decisions of the student .
