The Institute for Environment & Human Security (UNU-EHS) is a UN thinktank working to reduce environmental risks.
Our research areas are:
- Climate change adaptation, including insurance-related approaches
- Environmentally induced migration and social vulnerability
- Ecosystem services and environmental deterioration
- Analytical tools and models to help understand vulnerability and risks linked to natural hazards.
We are also actively engaged in education. UNU-EHS offers a joint masters of science degree with the University of Bonn, titled in The Geography of Environmental Risks and Human Security. UNU-EHS also hosts international PhD researchers.
Our institute is based in Bonn, Germany.
